This 5” x 7” spiral notebook features my original artwork of Gabe, a courageous little rescue whose journey reminds us that hope is worth fighting for.

Gabe came to Sophia’s Grace Foundation needing answers. After experiencing troubling neurological symptoms, he required extensive diagnostic testing at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center, including an MRI, spinal fluid (CSF) analysis, and bloodwork. Thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters, his medical care became possible.

During Gabe’s journey, something remarkable happened. When a critically ill racehorse and several emergency animal patients needed immediate care, Gabe’s foster family made the selfless decision to give up his appointment so those animals could be treated first. Because Gabe had begun showing signs of improvement, they chose kindness over convenience, trusting that his turn would come. Just a few days later, Gabe returned for his much-needed testing.

Through it all, Gabe never lost his joyful spirit. Full of personality, he keeps everyone smiling with his playful antics, his funny little “baby pterodactyl” sounds, and his determination to enjoy every moment. He has shown everyone around him that courage doesn’t always come in the biggest package.
