Stretch

Stretch found his forever home on December 3, 2016, after being surrendered to a shelter by his previous family at approximately eight years old. Thankfully, Sophia’s Grace Foundation stepped in and gave this senior boy the opportunity to begin again.

Stretch was adopted by a single, self-described workaholic who needed a companion. What followed was a beautiful friendship and a life filled with love, loyalty and unforgettable memories.

Throughout the years, Stretch survived neck surgery, a serious bout of pancreatitis and many of the physical challenges that can affect short-legged dogs. He was affectionately known as a “grumpy old man” because he was very particular about the people he chose to interact with—but to his mom, he was always her sweet baby boy.

Stretch wasn’t simply a pet; he was family. He even made special appearances at his mom’s bridal shower and wedding, making sure he remained part of every important chapter of her life.

Shortly before Stretch passed away on May 3, 2023, at an estimated 15 years old, his family was able to share one more piece of wonderful news with him: he was going to have a human sibling later that year.

Stretch’s portrait honors a senior rescue dog who was given another chance and became a deeply loved companion, wedding guest and cherished member of a growing family.

A portion of the sales from products featuring Stretch’s portrait will be donated to Sophia’s Grace Foundation, helping them continue giving other dogs the same chance to be loved
