This 5” x 7” spiral notebook features my original artwork of Joshua, a sweet Pomeranian mix whose future depends on one lifesaving surgery—and the kindness of those willing to help.

Joshua came to Sophia’s Grace Foundation after being rescued from a shelter that was unable to provide the specialized care he needed. He was diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a congenital heart defect that causes a continuous heart murmur. Although his heart has already begun to enlarge, Joshua is not in heart failure, giving him the opportunity for a cure before it’s too late.

Despite his diagnosis, Joshua is everything a young dog should be—playful, affectionate, full of energy, and adored by his foster family. With successful heart surgery, he has the chance to live a long, healthy, and active life.

Joshua’s story is a reminder that sometimes all a rescue animal needs is one chance, one act of kindness, and one person willing to believe in them.
