Some cats earn their names. Rebel rewrites them.

Despite his tough-sounding name, Rebel is one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. This big, handsome boy has an even bigger heart and never passes up the chance for a few gentle pets or a little extra attention. One of his favorite ways to ask for love is by reaching through the kennel bars to softly touch the hair of volunteers walking by, hoping they’ll stop for just a few more moments with him. It’s a simple gesture that has melted countless hearts.

Rebel has a playful spirit and loves spending time with his people and his favorite toys, but more than anything, he longs for a family to call his own. He reminds us that sometimes the biggest cats have the gentlest hearts.

Rebel is FIV-positive, a condition that is often misunderstood. The truth is that FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy, happy lives and make wonderful companions. Whether as the only cat in the home or alongside compatible feline friends, Rebel has so much love left to give.

When I created this portrait, I wanted to capture the confidence, charm, and quiet elegance that make Rebel so unforgettable. His dapper sweater, polka-dot bow tie, and stylish glasses reflect the distinguished gentleman I imagine him to be—because every rescue deserves to be seen as the masterpiece they truly are.
